for those last minute christmas gifts

Hey guys. Long time no see. Nothing to blame here but my laziness- and kinda Comedy Central’s fault for playing like fifty episodes of Brooklyn Nine-Nine a day (what was I supposed to do besides watch them?)

But yeah, between school work and spending Christmas with my family, I haven’t really had any time to travel. So I decided to make this post about something non travel related and more related to my other strengths- attempting seasonal DIY’s.

Actually, I consider myself a walking disaster when it comes to creating things; I burn everything I try to bake, I can’t cook anything but like toast, and all my DIY organizer projects closely resemble monsters stuck with washi tape.  So I was really happy when my Christmas Scrub ideas turned out almost perfect and I decided to share the recipes with you. Both scrubs are really useful for last minute Christmas gifts or just to welcome the winter season.img_2472

The first scrub I made was a gingerbread lip scrub. For this you will need:

  • 2 tsp coconut oil
  • 2 tsp brown sugar
  • 1 tsp ginger
  • ½ tsp cinnamon
  • Nutmeg and added spices.

To make the scrub, combine the sugar, ginger, cinnamon and spices and then mix in the coconut oil. I keep my coconut oil in the fridge so I had to wait for it to come to room temperature rather than attacking it with a knife (which I also tried). Then I poured the mix into a small tin. To use the scrub, simply wet your lips and apply before washing off.

The second scrub I made was a hot chocolate body scrub.

  • Cocoa Powder
  • Coconut Oil
  • Sugar
  • Vanilla Essence

I combined the first three in equal quantity and then added a drop of vanilla essence last. As before, I poured the mix into a box.

So, yeah, two of my favorite last minute winter scrubs ready and packaged to go.

Merry Christmas! xxx
